I've seen the Acer at my dealer, and I don't think it looks that hot... the
monochrome wasn't as sharp.
The DiamondScan AUM1381 is a strange beast. It's called "diamond scan" I
guess because the pixels really have a diamond shape to them! I don't know
exactly what causes this, but the color screens look good, however, the
monochrome has a very irritating moire' pattern to it. I wouldn't recommend

this monitor at all for use as monochrome.
Note, the Mitsu fills the screen fully with the image, something you won't
find with higher-resolution (greated bandwidth) monitors. Reason being is
that the ST puts out a fairly low bandwidth signal, and monitors like the NEC
3D and Sony 1302 are capable of handling high-bandwidth, and are adjusted for
such.

It's an expensive proposition to get good video... you really can't go wrong
with the Atari monitors, if you have the space. I like the looks of the
higher-rez monitors, however, the price is certainly akin to the better
appearance!
